Magura: The body of a woman named Sakina Begum (35) was recovered from a jute field in Ghullia village of Mohammadpur upazila of Magura by Mohammadpur Thana Police.

The woman’s body was recovered on Sunday morning (April 25). Magura Additional Police Super Ibrahim later visited the spot.

The deceased was identified as Sakhina, daughter of late Malek Sheikh of Ghullia village. The woman abandoned her husband. He has no children. However, the locals said that Sakhina was married a long time ago but her husband’s family did not last long. For a long time he had been living with his farmer brother in his father’s house. He made his living by working for LGED’s rural government road program.

It is learned that on the morning of the incident, the farmers of the area went to work in the field and saw the body and informed the police. Police went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, when the villagers informed his house, his family identified the body. The body was lying upside down on a red blanket. The green flower printed sari on the red color was wrapped around the real neck.

Mizanur Rahman Sikder, chairman of Binodpur Union Parishad, said he had given the helpless girl the job of cutting soil on the road. If there was no work, he would be given various government assistance. Locals informed the police when they saw the body of a woman lying in the middle of the field near Hatigara Bridge in Ghullia village.

However, a reliable source said that according to the locals, the woman was working on the streets as well as making interest. The debtors of interest money are speculating that he may be killed.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station Tarak Biswas said the body was recovered and sent to the morgue of a 250-bed hospital in Magura for autopsy.

Initially, it seems that he was killed and his body was left behind. The matter is under investigation.
